Campus Safety

A staff of professional campus safety officers provides security on campus 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The 65-acre campus is well lit and safe, located along the Thames River in one of New London's historic residential neighborhoods.

The Mitchell College Campus Safety Office has four major areas of focus: prevention, enforcement, education, and outreach. Campus safety officers respond to emergencies on campus, patrol campus on a regular basis, and provide escorts as an added measure of safety if students need accompaniment walking through campus at night.

Should you need assistance or have an emergency, please contact Campus Safety at:
(860) 443-0214 or x459 from any Campus Phone

Photo IDs

Campus Safety requires that all faculty, staff, and students carry photo identification at all times.

IDs are required in order to access: Residence Halls, Yarnall Fitness Center, Mitchell College Library (including off-campus access to databases), Mitchell Beach, and the Dining Hall (meal plans and staff discounts).

Students: Students receive their first ID free of charge. Students will be charged $25 for each replacement of a lost or stolen ID. Students are responsible for having replacement IDs programmed by Campus Safety (in Nathan Hale Hall via the outside entrance, to the right of the building) for access to residence halls and the Dining Services office for access to the dining hall.

Faculty & Staff: All faculty and staff should acquire a Mitchell College photo ID during their first week of employment with the College. IDs are issued to faculty and staff free of charge.

Photo ID services will be provided in the Library during the following hours. IDs will be accommodated during additional hours
(within the Library's regular hours) when staff is available.
