Due to the winter storm, Mitchell College will delay opening for classes and staff until 10:30 AM today, March 8.

School closing: The National Weather Service has issued a warning indicating that a major winter storm is expected to impact the Northeast and New England Friday into Saturday. As a result, Mitchell College will be closed and all classes are cancelled Friday and Saturday (2/8 and 2/9). For safety reasons, all non-essential personnel must refrain from reporting to work. All offices will be CLOSED on Friday and, weather permitting, will reopen on Monday, 2/11.
All Evening Classes beginning after 4:00PM tonight (January 28, 2013) have been cancelled.
Non-Binding Early DecisionApplicants are encouraged to apply to Mitchell College under the Non-Binding Early Decision program. The Early Decision deadline is November 15th for the following Fall Semester. There is no Early Decision option for the spring semester. All documents must be submitted to Admissions by November 15th. Incomplete applications after November 15th will be denied Early Decision status. Early Decision responses will be mailed around December 15th. Early Decision is extended to November 30th for applicants affected by Hurricane Sandy. Registration for the Spring 2013 Term has been delayed one week. Students that completed course requests may register with their Advisor starting November 12th. All other students may register beginning November 26th. Further details on registration will be released next week.
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the admissions office is open to visitors with or without an appointment, from 9AM to 4PM, Monday-Friday. To reach the office, please call 800-443-2811 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Interview Saturday will take place as scheduled on November 17th!
Classes are cancelled for Thursday, November 1st, and Friday November 2nd. Classes are expected to resume on Monday, November 5th. We encourage resident students to return this weekend if possible. Classes are cancelled for Wednesday, October 31st, but staff will be returning to work at normal hours. Please contact your supervisor regarding any issues involving returning to work. Henry Hall staff should arrive in appropriate work attire for moving items back to Henry Hall.

Classes are cancelled for Wednesday, October 31st, and we are still assessing damage to make a determination for Thursday and Friday. We currently do not recommend that students return to campus a this time. Lower campus and the administrative buildings are closed while we continue to assess damage and clean up debris. The worst of Hurricane Sandy has passed, and all of the residence halls have retained power. Students are accounted for, and continuity of food service to the residence halls by our staff has been maintained. Due to downed trees and debris from the storm, students are to remain in their dorms until further notice. After better assessing damage to the campus, we will be providing additional updates via Rave alert and www.mitchell.edu.

Due to the impending storm, Mitchell College has decided to close the campus on Monday October 29 and Tuesday October 30th. Due to the threat of flooding and wind damage, we are evacuating the Waterfront Residence Halls and Thames Academy and placing students in residence halls on Upper Campus away from the Thames River. Students are welcome to return to their homes with families if they choose, or to stay at home if they are already at home. We are prepared on campus to accommodate all students who remain on campus, and will continue to update the community regularly.
