Good news. Thanks to our IT department, Mitchell College's email, phone and WiFi systems have been restored and are up and running.
Wednesday, January 28, 2015 —
Due to the blizzard that dropped almost two feet of snow on the New London area, the College will remain closed today so that snow clean-up can continue.
While the campus has electricity, a short power outage early yesterday shut down email, phone and WiFi. Mitchell’s IT team is working to restore this ASAP.
The dining hall is open for students on a brunch/dinner schedule. The Student Center will remain open.
Many thanks to all of our staff who have been working so hard to clean up the campus, provide for our students, and keep everyone safe.
Monday, January 26, 2015 —
Closings: Due to the winter storm, Mitchell College will close today and will reopen on Wednesday, January 28 at 1:00 pm.
Parking: In order to facilitate snow removal all vehicles must be moved to the center of the commuter lot by 2:00PM today, and remain there throughout the duration of the event. Vehicles that remain in residence hall lots, or along DeBiasi Drive are subject to parking citations. Travel of any sort is discouraged as road conditions could change rapidly, and without warning.
Meals: The dining hall will be open Monday, 1/26. During the storm tomorrow, Tuesday, 1/27, the Dining Hall will deliver meals on a Brunch/Dinner schedule. Meals will be distributed at two sites: Yarnell Lobby for upper campus residents; Moorings Lobby for Waterfront residents. Check back for details for Wednesday, 1/28.
Travel: Travel of any sort is discouraged as road conditions could change rapidly, and without warning. Use good judgment when venturing outside as predicted conditions indicate extreme wind chills, and white-out conditions. Precautions should be taken to limit exposed skin.
